Skechers a boys best friend

Cash got some new shoes with his daddy and said they make him run very very fast.  I got to witness this first hand and I have to say Skechers do make a boy run faster!!!  My favorite was how protective he was of his new shoes.  Carefully putting them back in their box and then bag.  Showing off the most amazing details especially the growling teeth that light up!  New shoes are so  E X C I T I N G !

Super Matthew

So I really wanted to create a photo, of Matthew, like the one I just recently did of the girls. However, to get a 3 year old so pose for 4 shots, with hair and wardrobe changes is impossible! I did manage to capture this one.....and it makes me so happy! He has always been my "super" boy from the day he was born and spent time in the NICU, and then 7 weeks hooked up to oxygen. Can't believe he is going to be 4.

Hope of America

This flag is made up of about 2,000 5th children from Provo City.  The Hope of America is part of the freedom festival.  All the children sang songs and learned hand movements to go with each.  It was an amazing to hear their voices sing out in pride for their country.  I am so glad my child had the opportunity to be a part of this amazing children's choir.  Let us remember that our children are the Hope of America.

California here I come!!!

Getting ready to fly to California tomorrow evening. Doing a photoshoot for Brad Salamon a very well known and talented artist in So. Cal. http://www.bradfordjsalamon.com/ I am very excited and extremely honored to be working with someone so established. It will be fun to watch the project unfold and see the finished product!

Looking forward also to visiting with some friends I have not seen in awhile and working side by side with my friend Heidi Rote of http://www.offguardphoto.com/at a wedding in San Diego. It has been our dream to do business together and so this will give us the opportunity to (in a way) make it real...even if it is for just one day. This wedding party has no idea what kind of a "TREAT" they are in for!!!!

I love the response I have gotten on Facebook regarding these photos. Sometimes when you are stuck at home during Spring Break and it is raining outside you gotta pull out some of the creative juices. This was a fun activity to do with my girls. I like that they want to play my games. I am going to have to market this idea some how. Mostly, I love that I can capture some of the things they love to do!

One of my very favorite children's books is called: It Looked Like Spilt Milk by Charles G. Shaw when I saw this in the sky the other day it made me think of it right way. It reminded me of the times when I was a child and I would lay quietly on the grass trying to make shapes out of the white fluffiness.

I caught this the other day on my camera phone of course (BLAH!). But could not pass up the opportunity to take the shot. It is great being at the right place at the right time.

Something I have learned lately is that people come into our lives perfectly and on time. After thinking about this for sometime I have found it to be true of all my relationships. One person that particularly comes to mind is my best friend Heidi Rote. We argue back and forth about how long we have known one another...I say 28 years she says...more like 30? But who is really counting when it has been that long??? She is quite possibly the funniest person I know besides myself of course! You are probably wondering why this blog post is called Me. and I am writing about Heidi? Well the last time I went to CA she did a photo-shoot of me (yes, that is right my BFF is also a photographer). I have been meaning to do a shout-out to her and share her talents with my clients. Heidi specializes in wedding portraiture but takes beautiful photographs of all her subjects. I find that I enjoy being behind the camera much more than I enjoy being in front of it. However, if you find yourself in front of a camera I suggest the person behind the camera be someone you have known for 28 years, danced with, laughed with, cried with, pretended to be a Goonie with, roller-skated with, and made a fool of yourself with. Thank you Heidi for a fantastic photo-shoot, and a TON of great memories!
